PINETREE TO HOST 2ND ANNUAL
AJGA BABYGRANDE ATLANTA CLASSIC HONORING GENE SILLER
Kennesaw, GA — Following a remarkable debut in 2024, Pinetree Country Club is proud to announce the return of the AJGA BabyGrande Atlanta Classic Honoring Gene Siller, taking place this summer. Building on the legacy of last year’s heartfelt and highly competitive inaugural event, the tournament continues to celebrate the life and passion of beloved PGA Professional Gene Siller by supporting the next generation of junior golfers.
Inspired by Siller’s deep commitment to junior golf and brought to life through the support of Pinetree’s MGA and its membership, the tournament has quickly become a premier stop on the American Junior Golf Association (AJGA) circuit. Known for its high standards and elite fields, the AJGA brings top-ranked junior players from across the country to compete at an unmatched level.
The event kicks off with the Junior-Am Fundraiser, where juniors are paired with three amateurs—many of whom, last year, returned from the round amazed by the talent, discipline, and composure of these young athletes. Last year’s winning team featured Addison Peeples of Gainesville, GA, who dazzled the crowd with a first-round 67 and went on to finish third in the Girls Division—all before starting eighth grade!!
Throughout the inaugural tournament, the course buzzed with exceptional play. In 2024, nearly 30% of the field posted under-par rounds on Day 1. The week culminated with thrilling finishes in both divisions, including GaEun Athena Yoo’s back-to-back birdies on 17 and 18 to edge out Athena Singh by one shot. Jackson Skinner held off a strong field on the boys’ side with a composed even-par final round to secure the win.
While the competition was fierce, the event’s true heart was most visible on the final day, as nearly every junior donned red shorts and a commemorative pin in tribute to Gene. Players, families, and spectators alike embraced the memory and mission of the tournament, creating a powerful atmosphere that underscored the meaning behind every swing.
As we prepare for this year’s event, we remain committed to honoring Gene’s legacy by delivering a championship-worthy experience rooted in sportsmanship, competition, and community. We look forward to welcoming the AJGA, our Members, and the wider golf community back to Pinetree for what promises to be another unforgettable week.
